How to Become a Stool Donor

See If You’re Eligible
Start by answering a few demographic and health questions. If you’re eligible, you’ll then be able to book a phone screen.

Complete a Phone Screen
Select a time for a phone screen and a GoodNature Specialist will further assess your eligibility for the program. Phone screens are available between 9a ET/6a PT - 8p ET/5p PT.

Provide Stool Samples
If you pass the phone screen, we will collect a few initial stool samples at your local donation center to see if your stool contains the microbes we seek.

Become a Daily Donor
Once approved, you’re eligible to become a stool donor! Stop by your donation center up to six days a week and get paid for your time.

Your Good Bacteria’s Journey
So, what happens after we collect your stool? Donor selection is based on donor microbiome characteristics and general health history. Samples are tested and donations are processed into batches.
Routine medical screenings are performed on donors over time. A proprietary process inactivates numerous potential pathogens and isolates and preserves bacterial spores.
An inactivation process kills live bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi that might come in to minimize risk to potential patients and a comprehensive purification process removes unwanted infectious agents before encapsulation.
The processed donated material results in oral capsules for potential use as an orally administered microbiome therapy or for other research and development purposes.

A Microbiome Journey from Stool Donor to Capsule
As a stool donor you'll become familiar with health screens and medical visits. Learn what happens to your stool donation and about the role of inactivation and purification on the microbiome journey from donor to capsule.
